A WORD FOR TODAY 19 DEC 2018

God answers prayers and when we pray, He comes to us at a time we do not expect with the response to our prayers which will always be in accordance to His will.

We see a connection between the first reading of today from the book of Judges about how the angel appeared to the wife of Manoah bringing the good news that Samson will be born and also the story in the gospel reading about Zechariah's encounter with the Angel who brought the news to him that John the Baptist will be born. It is a pattern in the Scripture that includes how the birth of Jesus came to be announced to our Mother Mary

First, we see the power of God in action. The women were barren, but at the appointed time, their story changed and God made them to conceive. There is nothing the Lord cannot do, but we must wait with hope for Him and not give up no matter the challenge we face in our life.

For Elizabeth and the wife of of Manoah it was barrenness, but for you it may be other circumstances of life. Learn from Zechariah today to take your burden to the Lord in prayer, wait upon Him and you will hear Him speak to you as He spoke to Zechariah.

The Angel brought the Good News to them from the Lord and we should expect to receive Good News from the Lord in the course of our work and activity and we also should carry Good News from the Lord and share with others so as to put a smile on their face.

We do not need to be afraid like Zechariah, but to believe in our hearts that the Lord can do all things and as a result of that we must have faith in Him that He will remember us and do something about our situation.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a fantastic day. May God's Angels bring you news that will it a smile on your face. Amen. And May the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Judges 13:2-7,24-25/Psalm 71:3-4,5-6,16-17/Luke 1:5-25

Watch-Word: My mouth is filled with your praise, and I will sing your glory!

God's power can change your tregedy story to something good, but you must wait upon Him and believe in your heart that He can do it.# Have faith in God!
