A WORD FOR TODAY 19 SEPTEMBER 2022

*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*DO GOOD TO OTHERS AND YOUR LIGHT WILL SHINE*

_“No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, that those who enter may see the light."(Luke 8:16)_

_*We are called to be the light of the world, and this is the role we have to play so long as we claim to be in Christ, because Jesus came as the light of the world and anyone who follows Him must also walk in the light and shine as the light that dispels the darkness of our world.*_

_The gospel reading of today reminds us of this fact and also tells us not to hide ourselves, but to shine as the light through our goodness and kindness to others. Our light shines and radiates when we do good and help others to walk in the path of righteousness._

_*The first reading of today tells us exactly what we should do to be in the light. We must share with others what we have and not deny them the opportunity to experience our generousity. So long as we have what we can use to help and assist them, we must do it well and always and our light will shine.*_

_You will shine as the light when you stay away from acting wickedly against your neighbour or plan evil against them. Any plan of evil against another is darkness and that should not be associated with you as a child of God._

_*Do not fight or quarrel with a man who has done you no wrong. Be upright in your ways and dealings with people. Strive everyday to be righteous in words and deeds and stay humble in your actions and your light will shine out.*_

_God has given you much to share to the world. Be generous with his gifts. Keep using it to touch lives positively and He will give you more to continue to shine as the light everywhere you go._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day and a blessed new week. May the Lord give you the grace to shine as the light always. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Proverbs 3:27-34/Psalm 15:2-5/Luke 8:16-18

*Watch-Word:* Let your light shine before men

*If you stay with Jesus you will shine as the light and you will help others to be in the light also.*
