A WORD FOR TODAY 20 DEC 2018

Yesterday we reflected on how the Angel of the Lord announced the good news of the birth of Samson and John respectively. Today, we see how the prophecy made in the book of Isaiah in the old dispensation came to be fulfilled in the new dispensation.

 The Angel Gabriel was sent to Mary because God has chosen her before she was born for the task of being the Mother of His only begotten Son, but God does not force people to accept His will, instead He let's them make the choice of what they want.

 In her humility, our Blessed Mother Mary accepted that God's will be done in her life. She let her desire become a secondary issue, while the message of the Lord and the Good News from the Angel became the primary thing and be made manifest in her. Her Fiat (Submission to the Will of God) made the Lord Jesus to enter into her womb by the power of the Holy Spirit.

 Jesus is waiting to enter into our heart to dwell with us, but we must let Him do it if we open our hearts for Him. Our Mother Mary recognised that she is a vessel and a creature of God, therefore she let God make use of her as He pleased. We must learn from her to let God make use of us as He please and that will bring glory to His name and honour to us.

 Our God can do all things and when He choose to work with us we must let Him because it will be for our own good. The power of God is supreme and can change every situation in our lives. All we need to do is to say, "Here I am O Lord, let your will be done in my life"

 Watch-Word: Behold,  I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word

 When the Lord wants to make use of you do not resist, but be submissive because it will do you good and bring glory to His name. #Humility with total submission to the will of God is the key to authentic happiness and joy!
