A WORD FOR TODAY 20 MAY, 2023

*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*GROW IN YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORD*

_"Now a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent man, well versed in the scriptures. He had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus"(Acts 18:24-25)_

_*Knowledge is power and when it is applied positively it becomes more powerful. Knowledge and wisdom go together and to know could easily be interpreted to be wise also.*_

_We are in the time when we prepare for the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Infact, the Pentecost novena to the Holy Spirit started yesterday. Try and key into it so that you will be ready to welcome the Holy Spirit when He comes._

_*Knowledge is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and it helps us to know and distinguish between good from evil, truth from lies and so on. When we are endowed with this gift it will be difficult for us to be deceived or be led astray into what is not proper.*_

_We see how Apollos in the first reading grew in His knowledge of God. He had time to study the Scriptures and learn about God. He was also disposed to learn more, the things he is ignorant of. This is the way to grow in knowledge. You must create time to study God's word and be disposed to be taught by those who know more than you._

_*We are going to be vessels in God's hand, He will use us to teach others, but if we do not submit ourselves to learn and learn well about God, it will be difficult for us to teach others well in the way of God.*_

_Jesus tells us that the Father will grant anything we ask in His name, therefore, pray and ask for the gift of knowledge. It is good to know God and His ways and also be ready to teach others and help them to know God too._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a great day, may Jesus help you with thevgrsce to grow in your knowledge of God. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Acts 18:23-28/Psalm 47:2-3,8-10/John 16:23-28

*Watch-Word:* God is king of all the earth.

*Strive to know God, teach others about Him and make sure that your life reflect what you teach.*
