A WORD FOR TODAY 21 APRIL 2020

A WORD FOR TODAY

ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS

"There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles’ feet; and distribution was made to each as any had need" (Acts 4:35-37)_

There are times we waste energy speaking too much grammar about what we intend to do or achieve in life. These presentations can come in the form of a manifesto and the performance of the presentation could be said to be top-notch. However, it becomes painful when the performance of the manifesto is accessed to know the level of execution of what is said and it will score zero.

The disciples of Jesus did not go about speaking only words about Jesus, they, more importantly, showed practical agape love to one another. They had things in common and made sure that no one who is in need and hungry, goes home empty and sad. This is the true meaning of action speaks louder than words.

We are expected to be people of action and not words. Words are good, yes, but when it is not translated into action, it will amount to mere words and will not make any impact in the hearts of those who listen to it. This is the reason why we have a lot of problems in our country and some other countries in the world, Where politicians and sometimes other persons in the society promise to do a lot in words, but in the end the words will amount to just mere rhetorics with no corresponding practical action to back it up.

We must preach the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ, but more importantly if we are going to win more souls, we must strive to put our words into action and practice what we preach. We must show practical love to the needy as Christ has commanded us and by so doing we will become like Jesus who gave His life as a ransom for us and made provisions to supply for our physical and spiritual needs.

This time of covid 19 is a wonderful moment to put all our words into action by sharing with the needy, the poor and the indigent ones around us. We must make sure that no one is in need, instead we should galvanise all we can and provide for the needy as Jesus would do for them and in that way we shall be alter Christus (Another Christ) in the world. The Lord has blessed us with much, we have also acquired much, therefore it will be sinful if we fail to share with others in this time of need, but only speak words upon words alone. If you have failed to be charitable, this is a time to truly repent and begin to make amends by doing something practical to touch lives and win souls for Christ.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a splendid day. May the word of God, move you to always put your words into action so as to win more souls for Christ. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Acts 4:32-37/Psalm 93:1-2,5/John 3:7-15

Watch-Word: The wind blows wherever it wills.

Show some love with what you have, no matter how little and you will definitely win more souls for Christ everyday, because people listen more to those who practise what they preach than to those who say so much and do little or nothing.
