A WORD FOR TODAY 21 AUGUST 2019

A WORD FOR TODAY

The vineyard belongs to God and He calls each and everyone of us to come work for Him. We are called differently by the same God who sees us as all equal in His sight and in His generousity He can choose to do whatever He wills with us and blesses us as He pleases.

Our focus everyday should be to do the work we have been assigned to do well so that when the time of reward comes we shall be ready to receive what the Lord will give to us. We will be rewarded each according to our Lord's discretion who is the owner of the vineyard. He also has the right to do as He pleases with all that He has.

As we see in the gospel reading of today, the land owner hired workers to work in his vineyard and he paid them in accordance with the agreement they had. However, some who came first became angry that they were paid the same amount with those who came last. God gives us opportunity from time to time and He blesses us as He pleases, therefore we must never be envious of others or be angry on the generousity of God to them. We must focus on our work and do it well and be rest assured that God will reward us abundantly.

We must also be generous enough to accommodate others and support them to achieve and fulfil their God given purpose in life. Jesus has come to save those were lost and it does not matter the time when anyone accepts Him, but we must be ready to accept others as Jesus would accept them and help them to live up to their potentials. We must not discriminate, but show others love as God would show them love.

God's love for us is uquantifiable and He gives it out as He wants. He does not discriminate, but sees us all as equal in His sight. He pours out His blessings upon us and rewards us for our stewardship. We must stay focused on our calling and keep doing our best with the time we have so that when the Lord comes we shall be ready to meet Him and receive the reward He has prepared for us.

We must learn from God not to discriminate, but to love one another as Christ has loved us. We must treat others well and give them opportunity to excel. We must support those who are doing well so that they excel more and if we all do well in our various areas of responsibility, our world will be a better place, the kingdom of God will be promoted and the name of the Lord will be glorified and praised.

Today we celebrate the memorial of saint Pius X (1835-1914) He worked very hard to form the people and brought a lot of reform in the Church. He lived in great poverty even as a pope and inspired and influenced those around Him. We must learn from him to make ourselves available to God so that He will make use of us as He wills.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May you receive a just reward at the end of your service to the Lord in this life. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Judges 9:6-15/Psalm 21:2-7/Matthew 20:1-6

Watch-Word: You go into my vineyard too.

What you do with the time you are given matters a lot. Therefore, make good use of your time and be rest assured that you will get a just reward from the Lord.
