*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*LET THE KING OF KINGS REIGN IN YOUR LIFE*

_"And to him was given dominion and glory and kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed."(Daniel 7:14)_

_*Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Christ the Universal King. It is the last Sunday in the ordinary time and it was instituted by Pope Pius the XI in 1925 to counteract atheism and secularism.*_

_The feast honour Christ's sovereignty over all persons, families, nations and the entire universe. It affirms the Messiahship of Christ who redeemed humanity by the shedding of His blood on the cross of Calvary._

_*The prophet Daniel in the first reading of today talked about the vision he had about the son of man. He was given dominion and glory and kingdom that is everlasting and can never be destroyed. The whole nations of the earth and languages will adore and honour Him.*_

_In the second reading from the book of revelation it notes that Jesus is the ruler of kings on earth and by his death on the cross, He has made us a kingdom and priests to serve our God. To Him be glory and dominion forever. We must honour Him as the king and give Him all the glory._

_*Jesus answered Herod in the gospel reading that His kingship is not of this world. He is a king not according to the world standard, but the King of kings. He reigns in the world and in every heart that accepts Him as Lord and Master.*_

_He is a king with a heart of love. In humility He offered Himself on the cross for the salvation of the world. He was born as a king, but a king who will serve His subjects and help them to find eternal life. He is a king that bore witness to the truth and if we love the truth and make ourselves available to love and serve others, then we are true sons and daughters of Jesus Christ the king of the universe._

_*Jesus is different from every other king we have encountered in this life. He is humble, caring, merciful, just, faithful, holy, compassionate, loving, unselfish and generous. He has shown us what a true king should do for His people, by His suffering and death on the cross. We must open our heart and let Him come in and reign in us. If we let Him reign in us true and true, we will be His ambassadors here on earth. We must honour Him with our life and try to make this world a better place and in that way we will be propagating His kingdom here on earth.*_

_Today we must proclaim to the world that Jesus is king, not just as we go out in procession, but more importantly in the way we live our lives and in the manner we treat others. The kingdom of Jesus is spiritual, eternal and universal and we must learn to make sure that in everything we do or say, Christ will be honoured in our lives and His kingdom will be proclaimed._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a glorious day. May Christ the king bless you and give you the grace to honour Him in all that you do. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Daniel 7:13-14/Psalm 93:1-2,5/,Revelation 1:5-8/John 18:33-37

*Watch-Word:* The Lord is king with majesty enrobed

_*Christ is the universal king. Honour Him always and let Him reign Supreme in your life and you will forever be blessed.*_
