A WORD FOR TODAY 22 JUNE, 2022

*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*OUR MANDATE IS TO BEAR GOOD FRUITS*

_"A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will know them by their fruits."(Matthew 7:18-20)_

_*We are very correct when we say that we are in the business of bearing fruits as Christians. This is the core of our calling as God's children and we must strive to keep doing it until the Lord comes.*_

_The gospel reading of today reminds us that bearing fruit is good, but we must make sure that the fruits we bear are good. If we do not bear good fruits, we can never transform the world, instead we make it a terrible place to be. What kind of fruits are you bearing presently? good or evil? Good fruits, are the best and you can bear it if you follow the way of Christ. ._

_*A good fruit can only come from a good tree, this means that if our heart is pure and good, the behaviour and attitude that will come from us will also be good and wonderful. It will be edifying to all those who will encounter us.*_

_We must also be careful in the kinds of friends we keep and follow. They will either influence us to bear good fruits or bad ones, depending on their way of life. You simply know people by the fruits they bear._

_*Fruits of righteousness, peace, joy, patience, kindness, sincerity, faith, charity and so on, will only come from a heart that is deeply rooted in God. If you truly know God, then you cannot bear evil fruits because God is good and everything about Him is awesome.*_

_We must stay close to Jesus the living water so that our life will be nourished spiritually and we will have the capacity to shine out as the light of the world. To abide in Jesus is the only sure way to bear good fruits. Therefore, uproot every bad seed in you so as to avoid bring cut down when you begin to bear bad fruits. God will help you if you draw closer to Him._

_*Good morning dearest one, Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May Jesus give you the grace to bear good fruits always. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* 2 Kings 22:8-13; 23:1-3/Psalm 119:33-37,40/Matthew 7:15-20

*Watch-Word:* Abide in me says the Lord and you will bear much fruits.

*If you take your spiritual life seriously, you will stay close to Jesus always and you will bear much fruits for Him.*
