A WORD FOR TODAY

DO THE RIGHT THING AND BE HAPPY

And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them, saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us. But Peter and the apostles answered, We must obey God rather than men"_( Acts 5:27-29)

Peter and his companions by the grace of the Holy Spirit made the choice to do the right thing and bring glory to the name of the Lord even when they knew that it could cost them their lives. They chose to obey God rather than men and they have become an inspiration to all those who would desire to do God's will.

When we are faced with a challenge of making a choice between good and evil, it is always important to do the right thing which will be to stay on the side of good. Peter and his fellow disciples made it their priority to witness for Christ when the opportunity presented itself and that action is definitely a good one that has fetched them a heavenly reward. They were happy that they obeyed God's instruction inspite of the pressure they experienced in the hands of the authorities of the council.

We must cease every opportunity that come our way to please God by the things we say and do. We should not let the pressure from people that do not love good things stop us from being good and from speaking the truth at all times.*_

Truth is bitter in the ears of those who do not wish to hear it. However, the truth must be told because only the truth shall set us free. To witness for Jesus is one of the ways we can do something good and right in the sight of God, therefore it should be our concern to always speak the truth whether people accept it or not. We must also not compromise our faith or lower our standard because of the threat of persecution or discouraging words we will hear from others.

Just as Jesus came and did the right thing by obeying the Father's will, we are all expected to follow His example and continue to be a shinning light to others who are looking up to us. We must keep doing good even when we suffer for it here on earth, because our reward must surely come.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a joyful day. May Jesus give you the grace to always stand on the side of truth and may your witnessing for Him bring you eternal life. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Do not be afraid to speak the truth, although you may suffer for it, but in the end you will be vindicated and rewarded.
