A WORD FOR TODAY 23 DEC 2018

A WORD FOR TODAY 23 DEC 2018

It is indeed something splendid that the Lord chose the Blessed  Mary who was from a poor and humble background and could be counted as a nobody, to become the Mother of His only begotten Son our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Her attitude in the gospel reading of today showed that God did not make a mistake by choosing her.

She was given a Good News and she wasted no time to share the Joy with someone else. She went to visit Elizabeth who was already with a child, probably to seek advise on how to handle her situation and also to be of assistance to her.

This is the kind of attitude we should express as children of God and devout Christians. We must first let Jesus dwell in our hearts and then, we should take Him to others who should be in need of Him.

Mary's action was selfless and without any interest attached. She sacrificed her moment in order to be of assistance to her cousin. We must learn from her to be selfless in our dealing with people. A quality time spent to be of assistance to others is not a wasted one but a time gained for your good in the future

The greeting of Mary brought exceptional joy to the household of Zechariah to the extent that John the Baptist who was in the womb of Elizabeth has to make a movement of joy too. We should carry joy, peace, love and blessings wherever we go and not sadness, wickedness and evil. we must let God make use of us as she made use of our Blessed Mother Mary to bring peace to our world.

We must not forget just as our Mother Mary is joyful in what the Lord has done in her life, she also in obedience like our Lord Jesus Christ in the second reading of today accepted the cross that comes with the Joy. We must learn from her to have a willing disposition to accept God's will even if it brings us pain, because through the pain our glory will come in the end.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you begin this day and may your Sunday be filled with Joy and wonderful surprises. Amen. And May the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Micah 5:2-5/Psalm 80: 2-3,15-16,18-19/Hebrews 10:5-10/Luke 1:39-45

Watch-Word: Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord: let it be to me according to your word

When you selflessly make yourself available to be used by God, you will give them joy and you will also find joy for your soul.#Keep making yourself available for God's use.
