*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*MAKE A GOOD CHOICE TODAY*

_"I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live"(Deuteronomy 30:19)_

_*The choice we make in life will definitely play a part in what we get in life and what comes to us. Choices are made regularly, but we are advised to make a good choice if we intend to be happy here on earth and in the world to come.*_

_The Lord spoke through Moses to the people in the first reading, informing them that He has set before them life and death, good and evil. Choice of life brings blessings, but choice of death brings a curse._

_*Therefore, we must be careful what we choose and how we choose it, because it will come back to us in one way or the other, good or evil.*_

_We must choose to obey God's commandment and walk in His ways and in this way, we shall increase and multiply and be fruitful in the land. We shall blossom and shine brightly and God's glory will be made manifest on us._

_*We must choose to follow Jesus, practise self denial, take up our cross daily and go wherever He leads us. We must lose this life for His sake, because we shall gain it again in heaven.*_

_There is need to choose wisely. The world and all it offers is confronting us everyday, we are lured to abandon the way of God which gives life to follow the path of the world that leads to death, we must resist the temptation and choose the way of the cross of Christ and the benefits will be immense at the end of our life._

_*Choose the way of forgiveness, choose the way of compassion, choose the way of peace, choose the way of truth, sincerity and honesty, choose the way of total trust in the Lord and you will be like a tree planted beside flowing water which yields fruits in due season and whose leaves never fades and all you do shall prosper, because God's blessings are upon you.*_
