A WORD FOR TODAY

Jesus Christ is the eternal high priest of whom I share in his priesthood. Once a priest you are always a priest in the order of Melchizedek of old.

The gift of the priesthood God gave to me is something I will forever be grateful for. Every ordained priest share in the ministerial priesthood of Christ and he is expected to become Jesus to Humanity

Melchizedek blessed Abraham and Abraham showed appreciation through the gift he gave to Him.One good turn deserves another. We must bless one another always as God blesses us everyday.

The priest represents Christ and acts on behalf of men in relation to God. Therefore, it is expected that He will be all things to all men at all times as Christ would be for them.

The priest will be like Christ who will see someone in need and do something to help. He should never harden his heart or pretend not to see the pain in the life of the other.

By virtue of our baptism we all share in the priesthood of Christ. The lay faithful share in the common priesthood while a validly ordained priest share in the ministerial priesthood. However, one thing connects them both, that is, they can all be like Jesus to all men and women at all times.

Do not allow the the reaction, wickedness or opposition of people to stop you from doing good when good should be done, instead, make sure you do the good and put the enemies of God to shame.
