A WORD FOR TODAY

The God we serve is One that is faithful and He does not go back on His promise. If He says He will do something, then He must definitely do it. He told the Israelites yesterday in our reading that they should march on for their deliverance is assured and today we see that His words came to pass.

If we place our trust in God, it must be total because He can never fail us. We must always be ready to listen to Him and do whatever He tells us to do, because He can never deceive us or lead us astray. When God fights for us, our enemies will become fearful of us because He will definitely give us victory.

The question is not about God's faithfulness and ability to deliver us in times of danger, this is certain, but are we ready and willing to obey Him and remain faithful? Often times we fail in our commitment and promises to God and that does not do us any good. We must raise up our commitment level and hold unto Him firmly and we will always see His glory and power be made manifest in our lives.

The mother of Jesus and His brethren are those who do the will of His Father. Of course, our Mother Mary heard the voice of God and she obeyed. We must learn from her to always be ready and willing to listen to the voice of God and to keep His commandment. This will make us to be connected to Him in a deeper way more than mere biological ties.

We must make effort everyday to grow in our level of commitment to the things of God. We must love God with our whole heart and we must trust Him. We must seek holiness of life and remain faithful and keep doing God's will and He will always be by our side to defend us, fight for us and provide for us in our times of need.
