A WORD FOR TODAY

BE PREPARED FOR THE TIME OF HARVEST WILL COME

_"And another angel came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to him who sat upon the cloud, “Put in your sickle, and reap, for the hour to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is fully ripe.”(Revelation 14:15)_

_*When a farmer plants in his farm, he attends to the seeds planted until it grows and when it is fully grown, he will go and harvest them and put them into the barn. The good seeds that produced fruits will be harvested, but the ones that do not produce will be gathered together and burnt.*_

_The readings of today are reminding us of the need to be prepared because the day of the harvest must surely come. Just as the angels in the first reading were commanded to put in their sickle and reap, so shall the Lord gather the good into his kingdom and the bad will go to a place where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth._

_*We must be conscious always of the fact that this world is not our home. However, in order for us to be admitted into our eternal abode in heaven on the last day we must live well for Jesus here on earth. We must love good and detest evil, we must obey God's commandment and strive to honour Him in all we do.*_

_We must, however, be careful not to be led astray by those who will come telling us that they are Christ so that we follow them and go astray. We must stay at alert and keep doing good. It is only in this way that we will be ready to be with the Lord when the end comes._

_*The end will come someday and the time of harvest will also come. Our effort should be to keep living a good life so that the Lord will find us worthy to be admitted into eternal life when it is time. We must not let anything distract us and make us not to be ready when the time comes.*_

_Today we celebrate the memorial of St. Andrew Dung-Lac and companions. He was among those martyred in Vietnam between 1820 and 1862. Many of them were beheaded and burnt. Let us learn from them to remain steadfast in following Jesus even unto death._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you begin your day and do have splendid day. May God's grace help us to live well so that we will make heaven on the last day. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Revelation 14:14-19/Psalm 96:10-13/Luke 21:5-11

*Watch-Word:* The Lord comes to judge the earth.

*Stay at alert and keep doing good so that you will be admitted into heaven on the last day.*
