A WORD FOR TODAY 25 APRIL 2019

A WORD FOR TODAY

Every opportunity we get in life should be used to glorify the name of the Lord by courageously speaking about Him. We see how Peter in the first reading made use of the moment he had to address the people and told them the truth of what power that made the cripple walk again. He did not take the glory to himself but acknowledged that it was in the name of Jesus that he was healed.

This should be our attitude and mind-set in following Jesus. We must always see ourselves as instruments in the hands of God. God can use us to do anything, but we must not become proud and begin to take the glory to ourselves. We must use every moment we get to speak about Jesus and to call people to repentance in His name.

Jesus today appeared to His disciples to really prove to them that He is risen and He is alive. This was to strengthen their belief and make them eye witnesses to what has happened. It will also give them confidence and courage to go out and proclaim His name without fear.

Jesus entered in their midst and the first gift He gave them was peace. He knew they were afraid and troubled in their hearts and with that kind of mind-set it will be very difficult for them to go out and witness for Him. Therefore, He came to fill their hearts with joy and to make them rise up from the tomb of fear and become strong again.

How many times has fear stopped you from proclaiming the name of Christ or doing good in His name. The devil makes us afraid and as such we will become weak and unable to talk about Jesus or let Him make use of us to touch lives through our words and actions.

Jesus is risen and we should no longer be afraid. It is time to rise up again and begin to cease every opportunity that comes our way to proclaim His name and to let others know about Him. If you do not kill your fear, your fear will kill you. Therefore, let Jesus enter into your heart and life and let Him handle that situation for you. His presence brings serenity, joy, courage, forgiveness and unquantifiable miracles. Give Jesus a chance today to reign in your life and you will never be the same again.

Good morning dearest one. Smile as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May Jesus give you peace and drive away your fear. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Acts 3:11-26/Psalm 8:2,5-9/Luke 24:35-48

Watch-Word: O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name through all the earth!

Do not let fear cripple you and make you not to be useful for God. Christ is risen, unbind yourself by His power and be free from the fear that has held you down.
