A WORD FOR TODAY 25 AUGUST 2019

A WORD FOR TODAY

We are created by God for a purpose and we have a responsibility to always strive to live up to our calling. It is our task to declare God's glory in the world and make people come to believe in God through our words and actions, so that in the end we will make heaven which should be our target and goal always.

Our lifestyle should challenge those who are around us to desire to be like Jesus and to make a decision to follow Him. We must be disposed to be disciplined by Jesus if we are going to bear fruits for Him. It may be painful when we are disciplined, but it will help us to bear the fruits that will last.

Jesus in the gospel reading teaches us to enter through the narrow door, because that is the one that leads to life and anyone who wish to enjoy God's salvation must strive everyday in words and deeds to keep pushing forward in order to reach heaven which will only be for those who have worked hard for it. To enter through the narrow door could be painful, challenging and uncomfortable, but never sacrifice it for any other path or way, because that is the only way to life.

We can go to Church, belong to various Church organisations and still, we will not be known by God, because being a church goer may not necessarily make us a Christian. Infact, for us to be known by God we must strive to live according to His commands and laws which is summed up in love of Him and our neighbour.

What you do and how you live will help you to make heaven or to be thrown out of it, to be first or to be last. It is all about the choice we make. Therefore, anyone who wish to pass through the narrow door must be disposed to be disciplined by the Lord. We must carry our cross, detach ourselves from the material things of this life and focus on the things of heaven.

Anyone who wants to enter through the narrow door must strive to be holy and live a good life. You must disconnect from the things that will make you not to get to your goal which is heaven. This is a clarion call to change for the better. God wants us to be with Him on the last day, but it is our duty to live the life that will make us to see Him face to face on that day.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you begin your day and do have a splendid Sunday. May God's grace help you to keep striving well so as to enter heaven through the narrow door. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Isaiah 66:18-21/Psalm 117:1-2/Hebrews 12:5-7,11-13/Luke 13:22-30

Watch-Word: Enter through the narrow door

To live a life without discipline is a disaster. The narrow door to life is open, but only those who strive for it will be able to enter.
