A WORD FOR TODAY 25 DECEMBER 2020

A WORD FOR TODAY

GOD HAS SPOKEN TO US THROUGH HIS SON

_"In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets; but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world."(Hebrews 1:1-2)_

_*Today the Universal Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ. Christmas is the time when Christians all over the world celebrate with Joy the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in the form of Man. He was born for us and His birth brought Joy to the world.*_

_Jesus was with the Father before He came to be born in the manger by the Blessed Virgin Mary in fulfilment of the prophecies of old. The prophet Isaiah in the first reading tells us to break into shouts of Joy for we have seen the salvation of the Lord. Jesus is born to give us peace, restore our happiness and save us from the power of sin and death._

_*In Jesus, God has spoken to us. The letter to the Hebrews tells us that in various times in the past God has spoken to us through the prophets, but in our own time, in this last days He has spoken to us through His Son our Lord Jesus Christ. The message He is giving us in the Son is that our salvation and reconciliation will come from Him. Therefore, we must draw closer to Him and rejoice for He will lead us out of darkness and bring us into the kingdom of His light.*_

_Jesus Christ is the source of our life. He is the light that shines in the darkness and darkness could not overpower it. He is the word made flesh which has dwelt among us. God has given Him to us and anyone who receives and accepts Him will have the power to be called God's child._

_*God has spoken to us in His Son and His message is loud and clear. There is no other name by which we shall be saved except by the name of Jesus. Our healing, forgiveness, joy, restoration, peace, reconciliation, strength, prosperity, love, upliftment, deliverance and salvation comes from Him. Therefore, we must open our heart to welcome Him and to let Him be born in us and we shall not be the same again.*_

_We must rejoice for unto us a Child is born and a Son is given. All authority and dominion will be upon His shoulder. He is the new born King, wonderful counsellor, mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of peace. Let us welcome Him with a clean heart and let Him change us so that we shall become channels of His love in our world. The Lord has shown us true love in His Son and His life is our life, therefore, we must use this Christmas to share God's love, to promote the culture of life and help those in darkness to come into the light of Christ through our words and actions._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you begin this day and may the joy and peace that comes from the birth of Christ dwell richly upon you and your family. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Isaiah 52:7-10/Psalm 97:1-6/Hebrews 1:1-6/John 1:1-18

*Watch-Word:* The Word was made flesh and He dwelt among us.

*The nativity of our Lord is the best gift that God have humanity. Let us learn from God to always share the best gift of love with others especially the poor and less privileged in the society.*
