*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*JESUS IS BORN FOR US, LET US REJOICE*

_"And they went with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they saw it they made known the saying which had been told them concerning this child"(Luke 2:16-17)_

_*Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Nativity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It is a day we have been preparing for throughout the season of Advent and now it is here, we must rejoice and be glad.*_

_In Jesus, the Lord visited and redeemed us. He gave us a new story and a new history. His birth changed the whole narrative that has been there before He came. It was a birth that transformed the history of humanity._

_*The birth of a child ordinarily, under every normal circumstance brings joy and fulfilment to the parents, relatives and friends. This was the same when Jesus was born, but His own was different on a divine level. He was not just born for nothing, but for the mission of the redemption of humanity that has been held bound by the power of sin after the fall of our first parents.*_

_The prophet Isaiah in the first reading announced to the people that their salvation has come. His prophecy was fuulfilled at the birth of Christ. Therefore, the Lord has not forsaken his people because of His love._

_*St. Paul reminds us in the second reading that God has saved us and shown us mercy through His Son and that He has given us the grace to become heirs to His eternal kingdom. This means that Christ Jesus through his birth, death and resurrection has given us access to the Father and reconciled us to Him.*_

_We must rejoice and be glad for the birth of Christ, because He came for our good. He will give Himself for us and through His sacrifice we shall be set free._

_*We must join the shepherds in the gospel reading to give thanks to God for the gift of Christ His son who is given for us, for our good and salvation. We must let this joy drive us to give ourselves totally to Him and become channels of goodness in the world just as Christ has becone for us.*_

_Christmas represents joy, for Christ is born. Peace, for He is the prince of peace, love, because He will give His life on the cross for us, but He will show us compassion and mercy for this is the reason why He was born. Let us learn from this and become ambassadors of the new born king._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a beautiful day. May thd joy of the birth of Christ radiate in your life and family. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Isaiah 62:11-12/Psalm 97:1,6.11-12/Titus 3:4-7/Luke 2:15-20

*Watch-Word:* Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace among men with whom he is pleased.

_*God has given us the best gift in His Son, let us rejoice and be glad and share His blessings with others.*_
