A WORD FOR TODAY

ANNUNCIATION: THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY WAS GOD'S CHOICE.

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. It is the feast in which we recall how the angel was sent to Mary to announce the Good News that Christ will be born through her. She was startled when she heard the news just like st. Joseph did when he found out that Mary was with a child.

_*The Blessed Virgin Mary did not choose herself to be the mother of Jesus, she was chosen by God before she was born. She was God's choice, but God did not force it on her, instead, He allowed her to give her consent to what He wanted to do with and through her.*_

The coming of the angel to announce the Good News to our Mother Mary is a divine mission which will eventually culminate in the nativity of the One who will be the saviour of the world. Jesus is the Messiah who saved the world from sin and our Mother Mary is the channel through which He came into the world to fulfil His mission.

In her humility and total trust in God's plan, she said yes to God and allowed His will to be done in her life. She knew that she is God's own and if He chooses to make use of her, she has no right to say no to Him, because that will amount to an act of disobedience.*_

God made use of her for the good of the world. God can make use of us for the good of others if we say yes to Him like our Mother Mary did and let Him touch lives through us and bring them back to Himself.

Do not insist on your own plan. Try and find out what God wants for your life and in total submission to His authority, let Him make use of you, because He knows your strength and weakness and is able to use you in the right place.

Today is my birthday and I am happy to be alive and to be born on this day so many years ago. I ask for your prayers through Our Lady that God will continue to make use of me to touch lives in this world. Be rest assured also that I will remember you as I celebrate the Holy Mass this day.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a joyful day. May Our Mother Mary be our inspiration as we continue to strive to do God's will. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Isaiah 7:10-14;8:10/Psalm 40:7-11/Hebrews 10:4-10/Luke 1:26-38

Watch-Word: Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be dine to me according to your word.

If you want to grow in the virtue of obedience and humility, you must love our Morher Mary and learn from her.
