A WORD FOR TODAY

KEEP WITNESSING FOR JESUS EVEN IN TIMES OF PERSECUTION

_"But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake. This will be a time for you to bear testimony." (Luke 21:12-19)_

_*Temptations, trials, persecutions, hatred and death are part of what comes to anyone who makes the decision to follow Christ. If we want to remain with Christ, we must be ready to suffer in the hands of the people as He did, but in the end we shall overcome.*_

_Jesus was very honest with His disciples in the gospel reading of today. He told them to make sure that they use the period of their persecution to witness for Him.This is what He did when He suffered His own persecution in the hands of the people He has come to save._

_*We must strive to keep witnessing for Christ in words and deeds inspite of the persecution we may experience in the hands of the people. Quitting is not an option when it comes to following Christ. We must persevere in our faith and we must make sure as much as we can to keep the light burning even when we are at the point of death.*_

_The disciple of Jesus is one who has made up his or her mind to follow the path that leads to life. The challenges and difficulties that come our way in the course of our discipleship may be much, sometimes our persecution comes from those very close to us, family, friends and associates, but we must not give up, instead, we should turn our pain and sorrow into a catalyst that will help us get to the finishing line where we shall receive our reward._

_*Persecutions of those who believe in Christ is still going on in the world today. People suffer simply because they have chosen to do the right thing and live a good life. Darkness always opposes the light, but if you do not give up, you will surely overcome.*_

_Keep witnessing for Jesus no matter what you may be passing through at the moment. Never give up, because your endurance and perseverance will gain you eternal life in the end._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May Jesus give you the grace not to give up, but to keep witnessing till the end. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Revelation 15:1-4/Psalm 98:1-3,7-9/Luke 21:12-19

*Watch-Word:* Be faithful unto death, says the Lord, and I will give you the crown of life.

_*We may suffer in the hands of people because of following Christ, but if we remain steadfast, we shall overcome and our reward will come.*_
