A WORD FOR TODAY 26 JANUARY 2021

A WORD FOR TODAY

WITNESS FOR THE LORD WITH COURAGE

_"Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. 4 Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and salute no one on the road. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!"(Luke 10:3-5)_

_*Today we celebrate the memorial of saints Timothy and Titus. They were both disciples of saint Paul whom we celebrated the feast of his conversion yesterday. They collaborated with him in proclaiming the Good News and they did it excellently well. Both Timothy and Titus were converted to Christianity by St. Paul and they became his companions and helpers.*_

_The work of witnessing for God is one that requires the contribution of everyone. We must collaborate with one another if we are going to make a meaningful impact in what we do. This is exactly what we see in saints Timothy and Titus. They assisted St. Paul in the work of witnessing and they won many souls to God. We must collaborate and not be in any competition with anyone as we work for God._

_*In the gospel reading Jesus appointed seventy two others and sent them out two by two to go and proclaim the Good News. He warned them ahead that they will encounter challenges, because they were sent out as lambs among wolves and as such, they should not be be afraid, but courageously they must witness for Him.*_

_Without courage it will be difficult for anyone to witness for God. Saints Timothy and Titus were courageous in their witnessing and St. Paul was quick to point it out in the first reading of today that we did not receive the spirit of timidity from God, but a spirit of power and love and self-control._

_*We are called to proclaim Christ everywhere and it is not something we must be ashamed of or be afraid to do, rather, we are going to courageously proclaim the word so as to win souls for God. We must also be disposed to support and collaborate with each other in this task.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a beautiful day. May your joy increase as you courageously witness for Christ. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* 2 Timothy 1:1-8/Psalm 96:1-3,7-8,10/Luke 10:1-9

*Watch-Word:* Tell among the peoples the wonders of the Lord.

*Do not be afraid to talk about Jesus, He is our salvation and sure help in our times of need. Proclaim the Word always.*
