A WORD FOR TODAY

GREATNESS CAN COME FROM YOUR LITTLE EFFORTS

“The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his field; it is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”(Matthew 13:31-32)

Life is something that happens in stages and if we intend to live it to the full, we must always do our best to appreciate our little beginnings and do not look down on our little efforts, because that little effort will definitely produce incredible results when applied with consistency and determination.

The parable of the mustard seed and the leaven is one that speaks to us about the kingdom of heaven. When we proclaim God's kingdom, it could start with one person, but gradually we grow and bring in more people into it through our witnessing.

Witnessing for Jesus can begin with one person and if we teach the person well and the word takes root in the individual, he or she will become a channel that will light up others and gradually an army of witnesses could be formed to win more souls for the kingdom.

This same mentality could be applied in everything we do in life, business, education, career, profession and so on. We must never underestimate little beginnings. We must keep working hard even when our little efforts are yet to yield results. So long as we are doing the right thing, the litlle efforts we make today will eventually bring us greatness tomorrow. All you need to do is to stay focused and avoid distraction and your efforts will eventually yield the desired result in due time.

Never look down on people, never take things for granted, never ignore the little efforts and sacrifices that people are making to stay strong in faith and to proclaim Jesus. Give them your support and encouragement as much as you can, because in every little positive effort we make is a potential greatness and victory.

We have been planted as a seed by God here on earth and we must be the small beginning that will grow God's kingdom. Do your bit well and keep doing good at all times and you are going to see that your little efforts will produce success and greatness for the future. Never give up at any time or despair, instead, keep moving forward and you will surely overcome.
