A WORD FOR TODAY

The Spirit of God helps us to speak the truth always and to keep proclaiming Jesus whether the people receive and accept it or not. Saint Paul taught the the people of Areopagus the truth about the living God. They were keen to listen to him, but when he mentioned the topic of resurrection of Jesus, they all stood up and left him, but that did not make him to stop proclaiming Christ, the truth, the way and the life.

Holy Spirit is our guide if we intend to do what will be pleasing to the Lord. He will never lead us astray, but He will always give us the strength to keep doing the things that will please the Lord and us true, even if everyone rejects it. He helps us to use every opportunity we get to show people the way to life.

The presence of the Holy Spirit gave St. Paul the courage and confidence to proclaim the name of the Lord. He spoke the truth to them and some of them believed and accepted the gospel message. We must learn from Him to keep proclaiming Christ everywhere so as to help those who are yet to come to know Christ to accept Him and be saved.

The world needs to know the truth, but we cannot give the truth if we do have it. We must make effort everyday to seek the truth by making the Holy Spirit our friend and by being submissive to Him.

The truth is that we need to repent of our sins and return back to God who is ready and willing to receive us. Our Lord Jesus Christ died for us on the cross of Calvary and we are expected to live out our lives as His children. To live a life of the truth is to live a good and holy life and it is by the grace of the Holy Spirit that we can achieve it.

All that is required of us is to be submissive to the Holy Spirit and He will use us to bring glory to God.
