A WORD FOR TODAY 3 AUGUST 2020

A WORD FOR TODAY

DO NOT BE AFRAID, CALL UPON JESUS IN PRAYER AND HE WILL HELP YOU

"But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, It is a ghost! And they cried out for fear. But immediately he spoke to them, saying, take heart, it is I; have no fear.”(Matthew 14:26-27)_

In life we are bound to experience different challenges. Sometimes things will be smooth, sometimes it will be rough. However, if we must overcome whatever challenge that life throws at us, we must not lose faith in God and let fear destroy our ability to trust in Him who can help us.

In the gospel reading of today we see how Jesus came to the aid of His disciples who were afraid in the sea as their boat is being beaten by the waves as a result of the heavy wind. When they saw Jesus walk upon the sea to come to their help, they could not recognize him and their fear doubled, but he calmed their fears and also calmed the storm in the sea._

Frightening situations are bound to come to us from time to time in life, but we need not fear when we have Jesus, because He will help us to overcome our fears and calm the situations in our life that is pushing us to breaking point. You must strive to recognize in Jesus the One who can help you at all times. He will never fail those who put their trust in Him.

There is power in prayer and that is what we must do in our times of confusion and pain. Instead of pressing the panic button which definitely will generate fear in us, we should press the button of prayer which will activate our faith and help us to trust in God to come to our aid and deliver us from that which is troubling us.

It was in prayer that Jesus saw that the disciples were in trouble and He came to help them. We must value prayer and always create a quality time to be with God so that we will have the power to stay strong and hopeful even in the face of adversity and pain, sickness and spiritual attacks, confusion and disappointments, fear and weakness in faith and so on.

Fear no more, rise up from where you are presently and call upon Jesus with faith and He will help you. Hear His voice say to you today, "It is I, do not be afraid" Therefore, hold unto Him firmly, cry out to Him with faith, not with fear and He will help you overcome whatever that is holding you down from rising up and shinning out as the light.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful and blessed new week. May Jesus come to your aid and help you conquer that which is trying to conquer you. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Jeremiah 28:1-17/Psalm 119:29,43,79,80,95,102/Matthew 14:22-36

Watch-Word: O you of little faith, why did you doubt.

Fear kills, faith saves, therefore choose faith above fear and you will live to tell the story of how God delivered you from your fear. Faith above fear.
