A WORD FOR TODAY 30 AUGUST 2019

A WORD FOR TODAY

God calls us everyday to come and serve Him, but it is a service in holiness and not in sin. God is holy and if we must represent Him we must also strive and make sincere effort to be holy. We must stay away from immorality and everything that make us unclean and then we should work hard to do God's will and shine out as the light always in holiness and in truth.

To live a holy life is a project we must carry out everyday. We do not go on vacation in matters of spirituality, because the evil one could sow a seed of disobedience in our hearts when we lower down our guard and try to live a life contrary to the one that the Lord has commanded us to live. We must be eternally vigilant if we must be holy as the Lord has called us to be.

We must let the fire of God be burning always in our hearts and we must not allow anything impure to quench it, so that when the master comes we shall be ready to go out and meet Him and receive the reward He has prepared for us.

We must be ready always doing good and living well because we do not know when the master shall return. We must be like the five wise virgins who have oil in their lamps and was ready to welcome the bridegroom when He came. They stayed awake, they were prepared and they were ready to go into the banquet hall. We must not be like the foolish virgins who lost everything because of their foolishness. We must live well and live holy, stay awake and alert in our spiritual exercises and responsibilities so that when the Lord comes and calls we must be ready to go and meet Him.

If we stay focused and alert we will not be lured into sin or led astray to live an unholy life. Eternal vigilance is the watchword. We must always be conscious of who we are and why God has created us and then make sincere effort to always do His will. We must stay close to Jesus so that we will have the power to conquer every sinful desire that may rise in our heart. We must make sure that we have oil in our lamps through prayers and good works, so that when the Lord comes we shall be ready to meet Him.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a magnificent day. May God's grace help you to live a holy life and to always be ready for the coming of the Lord. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
