A WORD FOR TODAY 30 JANUARY 2021

*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*PUT YOUR FAITH INTO ACTION

_"faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old received divine approval."(Hebrews 11:1-2)_

_*Faith according to our Catechism is a supernatural gift of God which enables us to believe without doubt whatever God has revealed. It is the assurance of things hoped for and conviction of things not seen.*_

_In our pilgrim journey here on earth, God is constantly revealing Himself but only a man or woman of faith will be able to understand Him and also be ready to walk with Him._

_*In the first reading of today we were presented with the person of Abraham and Sarah who by faith received the blessing of the promised land and the gift of a son respectively. It is to show us that the only way we can please God in this life is to activate our faith, live by it and not walk by sight.*_

_Where there is faith, there will be miracle and blessings in abundance, because Faith is all that is required for miracles to happen. Abraham had faith in God and was ready to offer up Isaac when the Lord tested him, he did not hold him back, but willingly gave him back to God and that was counted as righteousness for him and he was blessed beyond measure._

_*In life we make the choice of what controls us, faith or fear. If we are ruled and guided by faith, we will trust God to constantly take care of us and He will not fail us, but when we are controlled by fear, we are held bound by the things we are supposed to conquer. Fear kills while faith heals and restores. Put your faith into action and you will no longer be a slave to fear.*_

_We must learn to activate and put our faith into action and in that way we shall be ready to conquer the challenges of life that come to us and win just like Abraham did. Jesus is always with us and can help us, but we must wake Him up with faith and not with fear, for he who has God does not need to be afraid of anything._

_*The disciples of Jesus were afraid in the boat when the storm rose against them, they were terrified and in panic they woke Jesus up and He calmed the sea, but He chastised them for their lack of faith. Put your faith into action today and the miracle you seek are bound to happen and the challenges of life you face will not overcome you.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile 😊as you do your work and do have a splendid weekend. May your faith in God always work for you to conquer the fear in your heart. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Hebrews 11:1-2,8-19/Luke 1:69-75/Mark 4:35-41

*Watch-Word:* Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited His people.

*If your faith is weak or dead, come to Jesus and He will revive you and make you strong again. Activate your faith not your fear.*
