A WORD FOR TODAY

As children of God, we have only one task and responsibility in this life, that is, to love God and to love our neighbour. If our actions does not emanate from love and and lead to love, then we are not going to fulfill our mandate as God's disciples.

Saint Paul admonished the the brethren in Thessalonia to keep on loving as God has given then charge and to do so without making noise, but more importantly to work hard and not be lazy. We must strive everyday as children of God to make use of the time we have here on earth to serve God by doing good works that will merit us eternal life.

We are all gifted in one way or another by God who is always generous with His gifts, but the question will always be, what do we do with the gift that God has given to us? Do we put them to use for His glory or we allow them them to waste? It is not the size of the gift that matters, but what we do with them. God cannot demand from you more than you can give, because we are gifted differently, but we can all make effort to be the best in our own way in that place where He has called us to work for Him.

The gospel reading shows us what it means to put God's gift into use. We are custodians of God's love and we must go on daily to work hard to live a life of love that will affect those around us. We must never entertain laziness and hide our gift and fail to make gains with what we have been given. God will reward each one us according to our work, therefore, there is need for us to make use of the time we have now to keep working for God and bearing fruits of love everyday.

If we do our work well and live well, God will definitely reward us so that we will be able to do more work for Him. Therefore, do not let God's gift in you lie dormant, put it into good use and love more so that the master will reward you when He returns. Do not be idle and do not fail to make use of what you have to serve God well now. Keep doing something, keep making effort and with time, you will become proficient and your effort will yield abundant result, for to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have more, but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a splendid weekend. May God's grace help you to put into good use His gift in your life fir the good of humanity and glory of His name. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: 1 Thessalonians 4:9-11/Psalm 98:1,7-9/Matthew 25:14-30

Watch-Word: Love one another as I have loved you says the Lord.

When you fail to put God's gift to you into use, then you have already made the choice and decision not to bear fruit for God.
