A WORD FOR TODAY

God is the creator of all things and He made man in his own image and likeness and gave him a place above all other created things.

The healing and deliverance that Jesus gave to the man who had an unclean spirit in the gospel reading of today goes to show who Jesus is and what His mission was. He came in order for us to have life and by His suffering, death and resurrection He has set us free from the bondage of sin and death.

God loves us and He can go to any length to save us. he did not spare His only begotten Son in order to redeem us and this should give us confidence always when we approach His presence to seek His face for our needs. We must approach Him with faith just like we have been reminded in the first reading.

Jesus restored the man who was possessed by the unclean spirit and by that action has shown us that the human person and salvation of his or her soul is of much more value in dignity than any other created thing.

Is there anything troubling you? Do you feel something is holding you bound? Come to Jesus today with faith, call upon Him and He will help you and set you free from the grip of the evil one. There is nothing too hard for Him to do, all that we need is to trust in His power to save and to confess it always so that those who are troubled will come to find help in Him through our witnessing.
