A WORD FOR TODAY 4 NOVEMBER 2020

A WORD FOR TODAY

DO THE RIGHT THING AND YOU WILL GET THE RIGHT RESULT

_"For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him"(Luke 14:28-29)_

_*Following Jesus requires discipline and diligence. It is like building a house. If you do not prepare well, before you start, you will not get anywhere, but if you prepare well you will be able to finish in good time the work you have started.*_

_Jesus tells us in the gospel reading of today what it entails to be His disciple. We must be ready to renounce the things of this world and any other thing that is important to us. The essence of this is for us not to be distracted as we follow Him._

We must be disciples of Jesus according to His mindset and not according to our own way. The way of Jesus is the way of the cross. We must love Him above everyother thing in this life, father, mother, sister, brother, friends, business e.t.c and we must be ready give our life for Him as He gave His life for us.

_We cannot expect to get the right result when we are not able to do the right thing. If we are going to be happy as Jesus' disciples, we must learn to follow Jesus in His own way. This will help us to live well for Him in this life and be rewarded with eternal life._

We must follow the example of Jesus as we work for Him. He loved us with everything in Him, therefore, we must love others as He has loved us. We must make sacrifices and continue to walk in the path of goodness, mercy and righteousness.*_

Today we celebrate the memorial of saint Charles Borromeo (1538-1584). He was born in norther Italy, obtained a doctorate degree in both Canon and Civil law, was ordained a priest and later became the Archbishop of Milan and played a major role in the reformation of the Church. Let us learn from Him to give ourselves to God always without reservation._

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May God help you to do the right thing so as to get the right results. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Philippians 2:12-18/Psalm 27:1,4,13-14/Luke 14:25-33

*Watch-Word:* The Lord is my light and my salvation.

*Never stop following Jesus, because He is the sure way to eternal life.*

(Wednesday of the Thirty first week in the ordinary time, year II. Memorial of St. Charles Borromeo)
