*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*BE ALERT IN THE SPIRIT*

_"For you are all sons of light and sons of the day; we are not of the night or of darkness. So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober."(1 Thessalonians 5:5-6)_

_*The day of the Lord will come at a time and hour we do not expect. Therefore, to be ready for that day, we must hearken to the advise St. Paul gives us in the first reading of today.*_

_We are God's children and we are children of light, we must strive everyday to live in the light and avoid works of darkness. This will help us not to be distracted, but to stay focused to make heaven._

_*To be alert in the Spirit is to not loose guard or get distracted from our mission task. Jesus has left us a mission to do until He returns, so we must remain watchful and keep doing what He had instructed.*_

_In whatever you do, make sure you are in tune with the Spirit of God, do not let the world swallow you up. Live a good life and keep shining brightly and you will win the prize in the end._

_*Jesus was alert in the Spirit and He recognized the voice of the unclean spirit and He cast it out. He spoke with power and authority and the people were amazed at the outcome.*_

_We must make sure that we are sober and alert in the spirit. Stay watchful and on guard and we will not become a tool in the hands of the devil. Make yourself available to the Holy Spirit and He will use you greatly for His good._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a great day. May Jesus give you the grace to stay alert in the Spirit. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6,9-11/Psalm 27:1,4,13-14/Luke 4:31-37

*Watch-Word:* I believe I shall see the Lord's goodness in the land of the living

_*Stay alert, keep doing your best and you will be ready when the master returns.*_
