A WORD FOR TODAY

Today we celebrate the feast of the transfiguration of the Lord. It is a feast that reminds us once again who Jesus is as He was revealed by the Father. On the mountain of transfiguration, the glory of the Lord was shown to mere mortals and Peter, James and John saw what they have not seen before about Jesus and their faith became stronger.

The transfiguration did not happen to add anything to Jesus' glory as the Lord, but it happened so that the faith of the apostles Peter, James and John will be strengthened and they will now become vessels in the hands of the Lord to strengthen their brothers and sisters.

Whenever we make a movement of faith to come into God's presence, we are actually going to the mountain where we shall be alone with the Lord and we shall not be distracted by the noise of the world and that will give us the opportunity to hear his voice and be encouraged by His presence.

God's glory is supreme and the greatest. It is incomparable to anything you have ever experienced. Peter saw it and he was not willing to go back into the world, instead he asked that tents should be built so that they remain there forever. You must desire always to have this encounter with the Lord and it will be a moment of rejuvenation of faith and commitment for you as it was for Peter and his brothers.

In the course of following Jesus we can become weak, tired, despondent and confused, therefore we must always find time to come to the Lord on the mountain to experience His glorious presence and we will be recharged to go back into the world to continue to witness for Him.

The voice of the Lord spoke from the cloud to let the apostles know for certain that Jesus is not only a prophet as confirmed by the appearance of Moses and Elijah, but He is more importantly His Son, the chosen one in whom He is pleased and He encouraged them to listen to Him.

We need a quiet time in our daily schedule to be in God's presence so as to encounter Him, experience His glory and hear His voice speak to us and encourage us in our pilgrimage here on earth. We cannot do it alone, therefore we need God to be with us and to lead us always. Put your trust in Jesus and believe in Him. Tell the world about Him and be rest assured that your following Him will never be in vain.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a glorious day. May Jesus reveal His glory to you as you come into His presence in prayerful encounter. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Daniel 7:9-10,13-14/Psalm 97:1-2,5-6,9/Luke 9:28-36

Watch-Word: This is my Son the Chosen One. Listen to Him.

Go into God's presence, be still before Him, pray to Him, experience His glory and receive the strength to keep moving forward in your journey of faith.
