A WORD FOR TODAY 6 AUGUST 2022

*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*THE GLORY OF GOD'S PRESENCE IS SUPREME*

_"Now about eight days after these sayings he took with him Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray. And as he was praying, the appearance of his countenance was altered, and his raiment became dazzling white"(Luke 9:28-29)_

_*Today we celebrate the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord on the mountain. Our Lord Jesus Christ took Peter, James and John and went to the mountain where He was transformed before them and they saw His glory. It is an experience of a life time and a privilege they received from Him.*_

_Peter, James and John were in God's presence. Their eyes were heavy with sleep, but they tried to stay awake and what they saw was a marvel in their eyes, and Peter never wanted to wake up from that experience._

_*The Scripture says that in the presence of God there is fullness of Joy (Psalm 16:11) Whenever we come into His presence we are bound to be transformed except if we block our heart from the touch of the glory of His presence.*_

_The transfiguration experience is a reflection of what we shall see when we are in Christ. We will be renewed in heart and mind and we shall see God's glory and our joy will be complete._

_*Peter desired to remain on the mountain because of what he saw and heard. It was an awesome experience to be in God's presence. This should be our daily goal and desire. We must be in God's presence to be happy and fulfilled, healed and restored, revived and rejuvenated. There is nothing in this life that can compare to being in God's presence and everything you do in this life should be geared towards.*_

_The voice of the Father has spoken to us about Jesus and that we should listen to Him. Moses and Elijah were present to represent the law and the prophet, We must draw closer to Jesus when we come to mass, visit the blessed Sacrament, participate in liturgical exercises, read and meditate on the bible and when we pray. Jesus is constantly speaking and we must hear Him and follow Him so that we may find eternal life._

_*If we follow Jesus and do His will, we shall radiate His glory and His presence shall be our security. But for this to happen, we must hunger for His dwelling presence and make effort to walk in His ways always. The glory of God's presence is supreme and to experience it is the best thing that can happen to you.*_

*Meditation:* Daniel 7:9-10,13-14/Psalm 97:1-2,5-6,9/2 Peter 1:16-19/Luke 9:28-36

*Watch-Word:* This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.

*Love Jesus, follow Him and you will have the privilege to dwell in His presence forever in heaven.*

(Saturday of the eighteenth week in the ordinary time. Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.)
