A WORD FOR TODAY 6 SEPTEMBER 2022

*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*PRAY ALWAYS AND STRIVE TO LIVE A GOOD LIFE*

_"In these days he went out into the hills to pray; and all night he continued in prayer to God. And when it was day, he called his disciples, and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles"(Luke 6:12-13)_

_*A good leader teaches his followers with his lifestyle and not just with words. He shows them an example of who he wants them to be by living it out himself. He goes the extra mile to nurture in them this positive mentality that will help them to thrive wherever they find themselves.*_

_One of the things that Jesus left for us before He departed this world is the value and importance of prayer. He showed us what it means to pray, how to pray well and the efficacy of prayer. He never did anything without prayer, He started with it and He ended with it._

_*Today in the gospel reading we see how before He made the important decision of choosing those to be His apostles, He prayed all night to the Father on the mountain and when He came down from there He chose these men who will will continue the work of the proclamation of God's kingdom when He is gone.*_

_A man or woman who prays and prays well will always be a winner, both in the spritual and physical realm. There is power in prayer and if you can pray trusting in the God who made you in His image and likeness, then you will be able to overcome whatever challenge that may come your way._

_*Before you begin that your work, business, journey, studies, meetings and even before you take the step into marriage, relationship, vocations and other forms of professions and activities, you must seriously go down on your knees and pray to God to lead the way and bless you.*_

_Let the prayer come from your heart and not just from your head. Believe that God will hear you and you will surely receive the answers you seek. If we pray well, we will receive the grace of discernment to make the right choices and decisions in life and also be able conquer to challenges and temptations that may come our way._

_*When you pray well, you will bring good to others. Power will ooze from you to revive and motivate people, heal the sick, strengthen the weak and give hope to the hopeless. You will be given the grace to settle your grievances with your fellow brother or sister in the presence of a believer and not take it to an unbeliever as St. Paul tells us in the first reading of today.*_

_Begin your day with prayer, walk through your daily activities with prayer, end your day with prayer. Make it your habit and lifestyle just as Jesus did. Trust in God when you pray and use the fruits of your prayer to do good and not evil._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May Jesus give you the grace to pray well and live well to His own glory. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* 1 Corinthians 6:1-11/Psalm 149:1-6,9/Luke 6:12-19

*Watch-Word:* I chose you from the world that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide, says the Lord.

*Learn to pray well and trust in God when you pray and He will answer you and give you the power to represent Him well here on earth.*
