A WORD FOR TODAY

Saint Stephen chose to follow the example of Jesus and He proclaimed the truth to the people even when he knew they were not going to like what he was saying. He paid the price of discipleship and today he has become an example of courageous witnessing to those who wish to follow Jesus.

The truth is the truth no matter who is involved and it should never be compromised. People may not like it when we tell them the truth, but that should not stop us from speaking the truth at all times. Stephen was ready to die for the truth and just like Jesus, he prayed for those who persecuted him as he was dying.

To choose Jesus is to choose life and this life must come through the cross. If we intend to follow Jesus we must be ready to die for Him. He never compromised until He died at Calvary, therefore, if we belong to Him, we must be ready to suffer and die with him in order to reign with Him.

When we eat Jesus the bread of life we will not hunger anymore and we will never thirst. He will be our strength in the time of persecution and will not allow us to be destroyed by the forces of evil. He will take care of us and will give us the reward of eternal life in the end.

When we have Jesus, we have everything we need in this life to be happy and we must choose Him above every other thing because He is the source of our life, joy, peace, tranquility and restoration. He takes care of us and He blesses us. We may suffer rejection and be killed, but in Him we shall have life eternal.

We must learn from Stephen's heroic witnessing not to pay back evil for evil, but to pray for those who persecute us and forgive them just as Jesus did when He was dying on the cross. This is our faith and we must continue to proclaim it everywhere we go.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a magnificent day. May Jesus give you the strength to witness for Him without fear. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Acts 7:51-8:1/Psalm 31:3-4,6,7,8,17,21/John 6:30-35

Watch-Word: I am the bread of life says the Lord; he who comes to me shall not hunger!

Be bold and courageous as you witness for Christ and never stop telling the truth even if you will suffer for it, because truth is life.
