A WORD FOR TODAY

GOD'S BLESSINGS ARE ASSURED

"Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:1-3)_

Today we begin the study of the famous sermon on the mount of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a heart to heart talk and teaching of our Lord Jesus Jesus Christ that was given over a period of time to His disciples and it is something we can learn from as we journey as pilgrims and disciples of Jesus here on earth.

The wonderful thing in the blessedness that Jesus promises his disciples is that it is always there even when things seems not to be so cosy and rosy. This means that so long as we choose to walk with Jesus through life, we will experience this inner joy that is not dependent on anything material, but is always there irrespective of what we experience or pass through in life, both good and bad.

Rough times and hard times come to us from time to time and sometimes it is even so difficult that we tend to lose hope, but for those who put their trust in God, difficult times are channels of grace and blessings if we can tap into them and gain the graces there in.

No matter what you may be going through in life, remember that there is a blessing attached to it if you can stay calm put your trust in God and let Him take care of you. We see how God made provisions for Elijah in the first reading of today when his life was under threat by Ahab. God took care of him and kept Him safe, therefore, for those who believe in God, their help will come from the Lord who made heaven and earth.

If you are poor in Spirit, you are blessed. If you are mourning, you are blessed, if you are meek, you are blessed. If you thirst and hunger for righteousness, you are blessed. If you are merciful, you are blessed. If you are pure in heart, you are blessed. if you are a peace maker, you are blessed. If you are persecuted for righteousness sake, you are blessed. Blessedness is indeed assured when we suffer for the sake of Christ and anyone who looks up to Him in times of need will never be disappointed.

Blessings of God are assured and He can never fail to come to the aid of those who put their trust in Him. Therefore, never give up. Hold unto God firmly with faith and He will continue to take care of you at all times and in all places no matter the situation.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a beautiful new week. May Jesus bless you and may things go well for you. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: 1 Kings 17:1-6/Psalm 121:1-8/Matthew 5:1-12

Watch-Word: Our help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Never give up in difficult times, because God's blessings are assured even when things seems not to be working out as you have planned.*_
