A WORD FOR TODAY

The early Christian community suffered a lot of persecution after the death of saint Stephen. They were scattered into different regions of Judea and Samaria and that also gave them opportunity to proclaim Christ to them and they were able to win more souls for Christ.

We should learn to see opportunity to proclaim the name of Jesus in every situations or circumstances that come our way whether good or bad. Proclaiming Christ is a responsibility we must be willing to carry out no matter what we encounter. Persecution in this context will be said to be good because it helped the disciples to witness for Christ everywhere without fear of death.

It is always a beautiful thing to have a share in the suffering of Christ. The early Christians shared in Christ's suffering through the persecution they encountered, but this did not stop them from proclaiming the message of salvation to the world. Many of them were killed and their blood became the seed that made the Church to stand firm.

Our mission is to proclaim Christ and witnessing for Him comes at a cost and if we remain steadfast in doing it, we shall receive the reward of eternal life in the end. In order for us to be able to witness for Jesus without fear, we must believe in Him and put our trust in Him. We may suffer in proclaiming His name, but He will give us the strength and power to overcome our challenges.

The next time you encounter a difficult situation or suffer persecution for the sake of Christ, do not give up, but make use of that opportunity as a platform or spring board to speak about Jesus so as to win souls into His kingdom. No matter how our challenges may be, so long as we remain in Christ, our joy will come in the end, because Jesus will give us victory.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May Jesus give you the grace to persevere till the end. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
