A WORD FOR TODAY 9 AUGUST 2019

A WORD FOR TODAY

Following God involves some reasonable amount of sacrifice and self denial. Anyone who is not ready to take this route will not be able to please God and will not be a good disciple.

Moses reminded the people of all that the lord has done for them and instructed them to keep his laws and commandments so that they may live long and prosper in the land that the Lord has given to them. Forgetting the Lord's deeds will amount to ungratefulness, therefore, we must strive to obey God's law and do what He commands because He knows what will be good for us at all times and will never lead us astray.

To walk in the way of the Lord will definitely come at a cost. You must first renounce yourself and let go of this world in order to hold unto God firmly. Anyone who loves His life more than God will lose it, but if you lose your life for the sake of God you will find it.

When you experience the cross in the course of following Jesus, you must be ready to stand firm and steadfast, because it will only be for a moment and the Lord will reward you immensely. Every sacrifice we make for the sake of Christ has a reward attached to it and it will be given to us at the end of time, therefore, never stop making sacrifices for God because His blessings must definitely come at athe appointed time.

Life does not end here, there is life after here. This means that if one intends to enjoy eternal life, he or she must play by the rule of engagement. Jesus has laid it down for us. We must love God above the world and all it offers. We must be ready to suffer pain, persecution, discomforts and so on for the sake of Christ. We must carry our cross with joy because from it we shall gain eternal life.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a blessed day. May God give you the strength to carry your cross and follow Him and may He reward you abundantly in the end. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Deuteronomy 4:32-40/Psalm 77:12-16,21/Matthew 16:24-28

Watch-Word: Anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it.

Never love the world more than its maker, because the world will never give you peace and satisfaction as much as God will give to you.
