A WORD FOR TODAY 9 FEBRUARY 2021

*A WORD FOR TODAY

*LIVE WELL FOR GOD, FOR YOU BEAR HIS IMAGE*

_"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:27-28)_

_*In the hierarchy of creation, human beings were created just like every other creature of God, but we are special because God created us in His own image and likeness. He made us to be rational, intelligent and also possess the gift of free will that allows us to make responsible choices in life.*_

_God put Himself in us when He created us and as such He expects us to live for Him and to bring glory and honour to Him through our words and actions. We must constantly be conscious of the fact that we belong to God and as such we should show the world who God is by the things we do._

_*God created us and blessed us. He gave us the grace and power of fruitfulness, to increase and multiply and to have dominion over the birds of the air and fish of the sea and over every living thing that moves upon the earth. He made us male and female and we all share the same grace and power without anyone being superior to the other.*_

_We must tap into this grace and blessings and continue to bear good fruits in our life. When we live well and do good, we show the world the face of God and who He is. God is love, kind, compassionate, merciful and just. If we live for Him as those who possess His image in us, we must also aim to do good and be kind to others. We must shine as the light and lead others to come to see and embrace God who is our Father._

_*If we truly love God and want to live for Him, we must honour Him with our hearts and not our lips. We must not be like the Scribes and pharisees in the gospel reading who will leave God's commandments to uphold their traditions. They are hypocrites and such behaviour is not acceptable in the sight of God.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a blessed day. May God's grace help you to be fruitful for Him as you bear His image in you. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Genesis 1:20-2:4/Psalm 8:4-9/Mark 7:1-13

*Watch-Word:* Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it.

*We bear God's image in us and we must live for Him. Let the world know that you belong to God through the things you do and say.*
