A WORD FOR TODAY

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Pentecost. Fiftieth day after the resurrection of Jesus and the birthday of the Church. It is the Sunday in which we commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles at the upper room. They were waiting in prayers as the Lord Jesus instructed and suddenly the Holy Spirit, whom the Father sent, came upon them in tongues of fire and they spoke in different tongues as the spirit gave them utterance.

The Holy Spirit came and renewed the hearts of the disciples and gave them courage and utterance as never before. They were filled with power and unction for function in a manner that they have never experienced before. Before the coming of the Holy of the Holy Spirit they were afraid, but when the He came upon them, they were empowered to go and witness for Christ without fear.

The Holy Spirit came to teach us the truth and to help us live a life worthy of our calling. His gifts varies from person to person and it is for our good and the good of the Church. It is left for us to let Him make use of us to promote and propagate God's kingdom here on earth.

The Holy Spirit is the breath of God who gives life to our soul. When we open our heart to Him, He will come in and dwell in us and help us to do our work well and live a good and holy life for God. If we intend to make any meaningful impact in this life for God we must let the Holy Spirit dwell in us richly.

We have been baptized into Christ and the Holy Spirit dwells in us, we must make effort every day to let ourselves be led by the Holy Spirit so that we do not gratify the desires of the flesh which is in opposition to the desires of the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is our friend and we must welcome Him today in a special way into our heart and allow Him to do His work in us so that we can go on bearing good fruits for God who loves us very dearly and sent His Son our Lord Jesus Christ to come and die for us.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊and do have a splendid pentecost experience. May the Holy Spirit come upon you and revive you once again. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
