A WORD FOR TODAY EASTER SUNDAY CYCLE B 2021

A WORD FOR TODAY EASTER SUNDAY CYCLE B 2021

*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*LIVE THE RESURRECTION LIFE AND WITNESS FOR CHRIST*

_"And we are witnesses to all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree; but God raised him on the third day and made him manifest"(Acts 10:39-40)_

_*Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Easter. It is the highest point of our salvation history. Jesus in order to redeem man suffered on the wood of the cross, died and was buried, but the power of the grave could not hold Him captive, He rose from the dead and gave us a new life.*_

_Easter marks the turning point in our life. It represents the time that light conquered the darkness of the tomb, joy entered and sadness disappeared. The glory of the resurrection takes away the shame of the suffering, crucifixion and death on the cross._

_*Jesus is risen and in the first reading of today we see Peter speak about it openly without fear as a true witness of the resurrection. This is what we must do. Jesus is risen, we must rise with Him and we must let others come to experience His resurrection power.*_

_In the second reading from St. Paul's letter to the Colossians we are advised to seek the things that are above since we have risen with Christ. Our life and attitude should change from bad to good, hatred to love, gossiping to witnessing with our lips for Christ, bitterness and wickedness to Joy and compassion._

_*Easter symbolises joy and newness of life. Jesus has broken the chains of darkness on us through the shedding of His blood and resurrection. Nothing should hold us back from rising with Him. We must live the resurrection life and witness for Christ in words and deeds.*_

_This is the day the Lord has made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it. We must rise and go and announce the good news of the resurrection through our words and actions. Let people witness and experience the risen Christ through us._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you begin your day and do have a glorious Easter celebration. May the risen Christ give you the grace to rise from weakness to strength, sickness to health, sin to righteousness. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Acts 10:34,37-43/Psalm 118:1-2,15-17,22-23/Colossians 3:1-4/John 20:1-9

*Watch-Word:* Set your minds on the things above.

*The resurrection morning is the beginning of newness of life. Let us rise and shine as children of the resurrection. Amen.*
