*A WORD FOR TODAY

*GOOD FRIDAY: HE WAS WOUNDED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS AND BY HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED.*

_"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with his stripes we are healed."(Isaiah 53:5)_

_Today the world stood still for the Son of man, our Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for the redemption of humanity that was held bound by the power of sin and death. We sinned and became captives in the hand of the devil, but Jesus died in order for us to be free._

_*Good Friday! What is good about this Friday. We do not rejoice when people die, we usually mourn, but at the death of Christ we rejoiced, because it is a death that brought our freedom and gave us opportunity of reconciliation with the Father*_

_The readings of today give us an insight into what it cost Jesus to save us from the dominion of darkness and bring us into His kingdom of Light._

_*In the first reading the prophet Isaiah tells us about the suffering servant of Yahweh who was despised and rejected by men. He suffered so much, but through His suffering and death we have been reborn and made to be free to serve our God.*_

_Jesus did not suffer and die for Himself, but for us who have been wounded and dealt a great blow by sin. He paid the Supreme price of our redemption through His blood and that is something we must be eternally grateful for._

_*The second reading from the letter to the Hebrews tells us to draw closer to Jesus with confidence and receive mercy, because through what He suffered, He was made perfect and has become a source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.*_

_Jesus has shown us what true love is by shedding His blood on the cross for us, for without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin. He has given us everything and His death is a proof of His unconditional love for us._

_*All that we need to do is to turn away from sin and begin to live a good life and in that way we will be able to show Him that His death for us on the cross is not a waste of time. We must hate sin and love righteousness. We must do good always and stand on the side of justice.*_

_Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquity and upon Him was the chastisement that made us whole and by His stripes we are healed. Our spiritual and physical healing comes from Him and we must look up to Him always so that we shall be made whole. We must constantly meditate on this and let it be before us and in that way we will do our best to live a good life so as to be with Him in heaven._

_*Good afternoon dearest one. Smile😊as you participate in this Good Friday events. May God bless you with His mercy and peace. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Isaiah 52:13-53:12/Psalm 31:2,6,12-13,15-17,25/Hebrews 4:14-16;5:7-9/John 18:1-19:42
